Lawrence County Jail Information and Inmate Search
The Lawrence County Jail is located in Bedford Indiana. It is part of the Lawrence County Security Center, which opened in 1990. It was designed to hold up to 88 inmates, but has been modified and now can house 168 inmates. The Security Center is operated by the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office. The Security Center staff includes 23 full-time officers and a part-time officer. Full-time officers must complete a weeklong Jail Academy, accredited by the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. The current Jail Commander is Captain Andrew Lynn.

How to Send Mail or Package
Personal mail to inmates must include the inmate’s name and the sender’s full name and return address. No tape or stickers are allowed on envelopes, other than the postage stamp. No Polaroid pictures or crayon or colored pencil markings are allowed in or on inmate mail.

Inmates’ commissary accounts are managed by Inmate Canteen. Funds may be added to these accounts online by going to their website.Money orders may also be sent through the mail. These must have the inmate’s name and be filled out completely.
