How to Send Mail or Package

New, softcover books may be sent to inmates if they are shipped directly from a reputable online business (i.e. Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Books-A-Million). Inmates may receive up to 5 books per month. Magazines are not accepted. Newspapers may be dropped off for inmates at the Sheriff’s Office lobby, but must not be altered from their purchased condition.

Funds can be added to inmates’ commissary accounts online at JailATM or through a JailATM kiosk located in the jail lobby. The kiosk accepts cash or credit card deposits. Funds may be added to inmates’ phone accounts online at Inmate Sales website or at the Combined Public Communications kiosk in the jail lobby. Inmates may also purchase phone minutes using their commissary accounts. Money orders may be mailed to inmates, but cash and personal checks are not accepted through the mail.

Visitation Hours

Onsite and remote inmate visitation is available at Jasper County Jail. Visits may be scheduled only through JailATM. An account is required and an email is needed to create an account. Onsite visits from the Sheriff’s Office lobby last 20 minutes and are scheduled on a first come, first served basis. Inmates may have one visit per day. Onsite visitation is held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30pm to 9pm and Sundays from 8am to 4pm. Remote visits are available daily from 8am to 11pm and are charged per minute.

Jasper County Sheriff Information

The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office operates the county jail. Patrick M. Williamson Sr. is the current Sheriff of Jasper County. In addition to the Sheriff’s Office, there is an annex located at State Road 10 and County Road 600 West that provides administrative services, such as handling police/accident reports, gun permit fees, and VIN checks. The Sheriff’s Office is open Monday through Friday from 8am-4pm and the annex is open from noon to 4pm.

Jasper County Public Records Information

In accordance with the Indiana Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), the public may request records from any government agency, such as requesting copies of police reports from the Sheriff’s Office. Requests should be made in writing, describe the records requested, and provide the requestor’s name and contact information. A model Indiana FOIA request is provided at the link below. Requests may be submitted in person or by mail, fax, or email. The Jasper County Sheriff’s Annex,located at State Road 10 and County Road 600 W., handles requests for public records, such as police and accident reports. Their hours of operation are Monday through Friday from noon to 4pm. Copies of records provided via a FOIA request may cost $.10 per printed page or include a fee for materials if copies are audiovisual or include color and/or oversized prints.
