Gibson County Jail Information and Inmate Search

The Gibson County Jail is a 32,000-square-foot facility that was constructed in 1988 and as part of the $3 million renovation of the Gibson County Sheriff’s Office and Jail. The steel and concrete facility has a capacity of 100 beds in two floors of cell blocks on two floors, as well as a padded cell, two isolation cells and a detoxification cell. A separate facility next to the Sheriff’s Office houses work release inmates. The average daily population of both facilities is 140 inmates. The jail is one of only 10 in the state that is accredited by the National Commission on Correctional Health Care. Amanda Hagen is the Jail Commander and the Jail Secretary is Audrey Morrison.

How to Send Money or Commissasry Package

Inmate accounts and commissary are operated by Tiger Commissary. Money may be added to inmates’ accounts at a kiosk in the jail lobby that accepts cash or credit/debit cards. There is a $200 limit on cash transactions, and a $150 limit on card transactions. Money may also be deposited online at Tiger Commissary’s website. This requires the jail location (Gibson, Indiana) and facility name (Gibson County Detention Center). After this information is entered, select Web Deposits to add money to an inmate account or Commissary Ordering to order specific items for an inmate. Finally, select the inmate to receive the money or commissary order.

Visitation Hours

Inmate visitation at the Gibson County Jail is operated by Inmate Sales. All visits are conducted by video and requires visitors to have an account with Inmate Sales, which requires an email address and picture of the visitor’s photo ID to set up. Onsite visits are conducted at a kiosk in the Sheriff’s Office lobby. Remote visits may be conducted on any internet-enabled device with a speaker and camera. A mobile app is available for Apple devices and visits held on Android devices or computers should use Chrome browser. All visits should be scheduled 24 hours in advance. To schedule and purchase visits, go to Inmate Sales’ website. For customer service, call 1-866-340-7879. Remote visits cost $.40 per minute.

Inmates may have 1 free 15-minute onsite visit per week. Remote visits are unlimited. Onsite visits may be scheduled Wednesday from 6-8pm and Saturdays or Sundays from 8am-11am and 1pm-4pm. Visitors who are 15 years or younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Visitors should check in 10 minutes prior to the start of the onsite or remote visit.

Gibson County Sheriff Information

The Gibson County Sheriff’s Office operates the Gibson County Jail and Work Release Facility. The current Sheriff is Bruce Vanoven. The office is one block north of the courthouse in Princeton, Indiana. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 7 AM – 4 PM, except Wednesday when the office stays open until 6 PM.
