The Huntington County Jail is located in Huntington, Indiana. The facility was built in 1984 at a and designed to house 99 inmates, but the average population is 100-105. How to Send Mail or Package

Personal mail to inmates should be sent through the US Postal Service. Mail should be written in blue or black ink or pencil and include the sender’s name and return address. Mail may not include polaroid photographs or photographs larger than 4×6”, greeting cards with sound-making devices, glitter, or glue, copies from magazines, newspapers, or books, perfumed paper, or letters written in crayon, colored ink or pencil, marker, or paint. Money orders and cashier’s checks for the inmates’ commissary account may be sent through the mail. Books, magazines, newspapers must be sent directly from an approved publisher. Mail should be addressed in the following way:

Money may be added to inmates’ commissary accounts online at JailATM or in the kiosk of the jail lobby. The kiosk accepts credit cards, debit cards, and cash ($5, 10, 20), but does not provide change. Change cannot be made at the jail lobby window. Money may also be added by calling (870)-627-5476.

Visitation Hours

Inmate visitation is conducted by Combined Public Communications. Visitors must make an account at the Inmate Sales website or by calling (877)-998-5678. Onsite visits in the lobby are free and remote calls cost $.20 per minute. Visits are 25 minutes long. Visits should be scheduled 24 hours in advance. Visits are unlimited, but onsite visits are limited to 1 per day. Each account-holding visitor may bring two additional visitors, but their names must be added when the visit is scheduled. Visitors cannot be added after a visit is finalized.

The schedule for visits is as follows: 8am-11am and 6pm-8pm Thursday through Sunday; 1pm-2pm Thursday through Monday; 8pm-10pm Tuesday through Sunday; and 2pm-4pm daily

The county jail is operated by the Huntington County Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff is Christian E. Newton and the Chief Deputy is Chad Hammel. The office is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.Monday through Friday.
