Jefferson County Jail Information and Inmate Search
The Jefferson County Jail is located in Madison, Indiana and operated by the local Sheriff’s Office. The Jail Division includes 14 full-time Jail Officers and 2 Full Time contracted Nurses.The Jail Commander is Joey Snell, the Matron is Libby Hoffman, and the Administrative Assistant is Megan Humphry. The current facility was renovated in 2005 and contains 109 beds across 7 housing units. A new Sheriff’s Office & Jail is under construction and will hold 300 inmates. The average daily inmate population ranges from 160 to 200.

How to Send Mail or Package
Personal mail to inmates must have the sender’s full name (no abbreviations) and return address in the upper left corner of the envelope. Money is not accepted through the mail. Stickers and glitter may not be on the envelope or letter. Polaroids, cards, and coloring pages are not permitted. Address the envelope as follows:
